Bana Grass is a fast-growing, tall perennial grass that makes an excellent screening plant. It produces lush green foliage and can quickly create privacy, shelter or a natural backdrop on larger properties and gardens.

Planting

Plant cuttings in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Each Node (joint) can produce a new grass cane/shoot, and also a set of roots. So aim to plant each cane with at least 2 of the nodes below the soil line. Keep the soil consistently moist while the cutting establishes, and once established, the Bana grass will grow very quickly. 40 canes will give a good screen of approximately 12m long.

Care

Allow plenty of room for growth and cut back old growth as required. Avoid planting close to waterways, creeks, drainage areas or other sensitive water environments.

Bana Grass is supplied as fresh cuttings with a minimum of 2–3 nodes, ready for planting.
